About Us
We’re a small family based in rural Scotland with a deep love for chickens and the slower pace of smallholding life. What started as a few backyard hens has grown into a small but purposeful flock of pure breeds and quality hybrids — all raised with space, care, and proper attention to health and temperament.
Our Breeds
We specialise in Orpingtons — one of Britain’s most beloved heritage breeds. We keep Buff, Blue, and Black Orpingtons, selected for correct type, calm disposition, and strong fertility. Our birds are dual-purpose: good layers with excellent table weight, and friendly enough for families with children.
We also keep a small number of hybrid layers for customers looking for reliable, high-output birds. Our hybrids are hardy, friendly, and well-suited to Scottish conditions.
Hatching Eggs
We sell fertile hatching eggs throughout the season. Eggs are collected daily, stored correctly, and dispatched with care. We can’t guarantee hatch rates (no one honestly can), but our fertility rates are consistently high and we pack carefully to minimise transit damage.
How We Raise Our Birds
Our chickens are free to roam on grass during the day and housed securely at night. We don’t use routine antibiotics. Feed is a quality layers pellet supplemented with greens, mixed corn, and whatever they forage themselves. We worm and treat for mites on a regular schedule.
